He was predeceased by: his parents, Eva M. Deschenes (Jackson) and Jean Leon Deschenes; his sister Elizabeth MacLeod (Jackson); his brother-in-law Ivor; and his nephews, Timothy MacLeod and Michael MacLeod.

He is survived by: his significant other Laurie Gorman (Dartmouth); his daughters, Yolande Deschenes and Bernadette Deschenes Stead (Ontario); his niece Leslie MacLeod (Hal Thompson); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Benajmin, Madeline and Scott MacLeod (Tara Theriault MacLeod); his friends, Jerry Tarbett and Holly MacDonald (Bridgewater); and also, Hunter and Lincoln.

Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of choice.
