With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Rita McDonald (Dartmouth, Nova Scotia), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 15, 2025 at the age of 100. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Daniel J. MacDonald and Christine MacDonald (MacGillivray); her husband William "Billy" M. McDonald; her granddaughter Maria; and her siblings, Gordon, Harold, James, Leo, Cecelia (McNulty), Margaret "Margie" Gouthro and Rosella MacDonald.

She is survived by: her son Michael McDonald; her daughter-in-law Caroline McDonald (Hadley); and her granddaughter Laura.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. A donation to the Canadian Cancer Society has been made in Mary's name in memory to her granddaughter Maria Stevens.
