He was predeceased by: his wife Genevieve "Jean" Hynes; his parents, Joseph Hynes and Mary Hynes; and his siblings, Joseph, Harold, Agnes, Eileen, Viola, Marg and Marjorie.

He is survived by: his daughters, Bernice Clarke (Daryl) and Dale MacDonald (Michael); his grandson Hunter Clarke; and his siblings, Isaac Hynes, Hilliard Hynes (Marg), Fintan Hynes and Stella Carey.
