With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Peter Joseph Macneil (Dartmouth, Nova Scotia), born in Iona, Nova Scotia, who passed away on February 20, 2019 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia; his siblings, Norman and Mary; and his nephews, David, Michael and Gary.
He is survived by: his siblings, John Angus, Dorothy (Bob Mercer), Patricia, Catherine (Ken Partington) and Malcolm (Nancy); his children, Margaret (Dartmouth), Malcolm, Maria (Halifax), Norm and Donald (Halifax); his grandchildren, Theresa, Alex, Danielle, Maria, Sarah, Dianne, Peter and Carter; and his sons, Leafs, Jays and Cape Breton. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, we welcome donations to our mother's scholarship at the Sacred Heart School in Halifax, or go have a beer at the Midtown Tavern — his favourite watering hole since his navy days — and toast life.
