With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ray A. Barkhouse (Dartmouth, Nova Scotia), who passed away on February 16, 2026 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh Barkhouse and Sadie Barkhouse (Joudrey); his wife Ella (Baggs); and his siblings, Reginald, Archibald, Hilda, Gloria, Vivian, Gladys and Garnice.
He is survived by: his sons, Michael and Brian; his daughters-in-law, Heather and Crystal; his grandchildren, Ross (Abby), Jacob, Livia, Meghan (Thomas), Katelyn (Ryan) and Kyle; his siblings, Irene (Dawson Baker), Donald, Kenneth (Linda) and Jim (Jeanne); and his aunt Eldora.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 21st 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Atlantic Funeral Home (771 Main St, Dartmouth, NS B2W3T9). A funeral service was held on Sunday, February 22nd 2026 from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at the St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church (216 School St, Dartmouth, NS B3A2Y4). A reception was held on Sunday, February 22nd 2026 at 2:45 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, February 23rd 2026 at the Dartmouth Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Nova Scotia or Northwood Care Foundation.
