He was predeceased by: his wives, Muriel Legge and Muriel Patey (Legge); his parents, Stanley Pater and Hilda Pater; and his brother Trevor Patey.

He is survived by: his children, Jeannie, Jeanette Parker (Gregory), Roy and Terry; his grandchildren, Raymond, Johns and Susanna; and his siblings, Christine Stockley (Bernard), Jasmine Chafe (Donald), Tony Patey (Beverly) and Colin Patey (Linda).
