He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Murphy and Eileen Murphy; and his siblings, Donald (Tubby), William (Billy), Robert (Rocky), Geraldine Bernard and Marilyn McGinley.

He is survived by: his wife Leona (Lee); his children, Tony (Faye) of Dartmouth, Cyndi, Gail of Halifax and Nancy (Marc); his grandchildren, Toni, Paul Eichhorn, Lindsay Murphy, Keileigh Butchart (Matt), Ben Lilly, Laura Cormier and Allan Cormier (Lily); his great grandchildren, Jacob Eichhorn and Atlas Cormier; and his siblings, Linda Thimot and Edward.
