He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert John and Irene May Bell (Weldon); his wife Helen Blanche Dalrymple; his grandson Angel; and his siblings, William and Alison.

He is survived by: his children, Jennifer Bell-Harding (Stephen Harding), Lenora Bell (Douglas Curren), Robert Bell III (Lorena Thorburn) and Heather Bell (Marc-André Lavoie); his grandchildren, Benjamin (Laura), Bradford and Breanna Curren; his children, Andrew (Sydni), Cameron Harding, Isaac, Simon Bell and Chloé Lavoie; his great grandchildren, Finley and Henry Curren; his sister-in-law Beatrice Demont; and his cousins, Alice-Jean, Graham and Sharon. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
