He was predeceased by: his parents, Grace Burke and Clancy Burke; and his brother Clyde. He is survived by: his wife Genevieve Keen; his sons, Stephen, Andrew (Kristie) and Jonathan (Carlye); and his grandchildren, Tessa, Lennon, Jane and Poppy.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Christ Church (50 Wentworth St, Dartmouth, NS B2Y2V3).

Bob was presented with a Merit Award for his contribution to the creation of the Dolphin (Deep Ocean Platform Hydrographic Instrumentation and Navigation) Bob's volunteer activities included serving as President of the Canadian Atlantic section of IEEE; President of NS division of CAMR as well as CACL; member of the Integration Action Group of NS, Scout leader and various activities with Club Ski 30.
