He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Bedell (Balch) and Vaughan Bedell; his wife Doris (Lewis); his sisters, Joyce Allen and Jean Bedell; his siblings-in-law, Peggy Lewis Kell, Robert Lewis, Maynard Myers, Robert Allen and Bud Jacops; his son-in-law Robert Hussey; and his siblings' children, Carole Lewis, Christopher and David Lewis.
He is survived by: his sister Ann Jacops of Knoxville, Iowa; his children, Juanita Hussey of Dartmouth, Brenda Belanger (Ken) of Truro, Jan Jacob (Tom) of Regina, Chris Scanlan (Doug) of Dartmouth, Dan Bedell (Lisa) of Dartmouth, William Bedell of Dartmouth and Sean Bedell (Lisa) of Dartmouth; and his siblings-in-law, Eileen Myers, Marilyn Saldon (Herb) of Dartmouth, Diane Shufelt (Bob) of Lower Sackville, Allan Lewis (Norma) of Musquodoboit Harbour and Gary Lewis (Darcel) of Dartmouth. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
In consideration of everyone's safety during the COVID-19 pandemic and Russ' wishes, there will be no visitation, with a private family interment.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Canadian Red Cross or other charity of your choice is appreciated.
