It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shaylene Stella Downey (Dartmouth, Nova Scotia), born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, who passed away on March 10, 2021, at the age of 30, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her grandparents, Roger Downey, Leon, Maureen Downey, Joe and Estella Downey; and her godmother Millicent Downey.

She is survived by : her parents, Decory Downey and Carson Downey; her siblings, Kilesha, Jessica, Deondra, Chalenia Fraser (Andre Thomas), Barrie Ont, Antoinette Cain, Chernest Smith, Coulton (Nicole Melanson), Demarco, Shawntez (Neco), Jamal, Daniel, Jaleel Smith, Vanteo Grant, Emanual Downey, Robert Downey (Lulu), Nadine, Verna, Bernice, Danielle and Terrisha; her grandmother Pinky Downey (Middie); her close friend Kara (Lucille Cain); her aunts, Carrie Downey, Roxanne Diggs, Pearleen Downey and Anna Downey; and her godparents, Patricia Downey and Jordan Fraser.

Due to Covid-19 there will be no visitation with a private Funeral Service at Atlantic Funeral Home, Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 1:00 PM and will be by invite only.
