He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Shrum and Elizabeth Shrum (Arnold); and his siblings, Betty Henderson, Donald (Ducky), Kenneth and Harold Shrum (Rowdy).

He is survived by: his wife Shirley (Anderson); his children, Wendy Bell (Mike), Randy Shrum (Roseanne) and Shelley Murray (Mark); his grandchildren, Amy Edwards (Jonathan), Joshua Sanderson (Shaunna) and Jarrett Shrum (Brittany); his great grandchildren, Regan Gallant, Cooper Anstey, Cameron Sanderson, Chloe Edwards, Koraline Bell and Finley Bell; and his siblings, Glenis Dragatis, Helen Ostrowercha, Marlene Killer (Malcolm Schofield), Sharon (Gus Murray), June Porter, Wayne Shrum (Diane) and Alan Shrum.
