It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Walter Morand (Dartmouth, Nova Scotia), born in Marchand, Manitoba, who passed away on January 16, 2022, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George Morand and Ada May Morand; his former wife Ivy Rose Morand; and his siblings, Marguerite Cougnon, Elsie Kozak, Arthur Morand, Joseph Morand and Albert Morand.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Jane Lewis; his children, Karen Blotnicky (Michael), Stephen Morand (Cathy), Patrick Morand (Tara), Shannon Doucette (Randy) and Sharon Morand; his grandchildren, Pamela Blotnicky (Jeremy Josey), Robert Blotnicky (Tasha Clyke), Christie Blotnicky (Michael Bookholt), Danielle Froh (Thomas), Michelle Doucette, Dylan Doucette (Emily Martin), André Cormier, Stèfan Cormier and Gillian Morand; his great grandchildren, Acey, Zachary, Mattea, Peyton, Mercedez, Russell and Levi; and his brothers, George Cougnon (Winnipeg), Ronald Morand (Thunder Bay) and Archie Morand.
Due to COVID restrictions visitation will be held by invitation only and registration will be required to attend the funeral service, which will also be livestreamed.
Donations in his memory can be made to a charity of choice.
