He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Barker and Gladys Barker (Hertle); his granddaughter Whitney Avery; his siblings, Ross (Gwen), Ruth Hubbard (Bill), Mary and Joyce; his parents-in-law, Cecil and Mona Gammell; and his siblings-in-law, Terence, Calvin, Gordon Gammell, Dave Perrin, Kennard Smith, Elizabeth Lemmon, Beverly Gammell and Dorothy MacKinnon.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley (Gammell); his daughters, Janice Leslie (Trevor) and Judy West; his grandchildren, Courtney Avery (Craig Sears), Danielle West (Corey Publicover) and Cory West (Katie Burton); his great grandchildren, Alivia and Everly Publicover; his sister Darlene Coolen (Kenneth); and his siblings-in-law, Wayne Gammell (Glenda), Victor MacKinnon, Alvin Lemmon, Frances Perrin, Martha Gammell, Wanda Smith, Nancy Gammell and Jane Stewart. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to The Lung Association of Nova Scotia, Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of choice.
