Paul Hines wrote a sympathy message

“As a teenager I loved in East Noel. I knew Sadie and Claude. My mother, Clara Hines, was always able to keep me up to date as to where the folks had migrated to after I left East Noel to go to Ottawa to pursue my career and to raise my family. I think often of my early life in East Noel. I recently had a great phone conversation with Sadie's niece, my cousin, Marcia Patterson. I still go "home" for a visit every summer. Paul Hines”

“My mother is in Debert Court just a few doors down from Sadie’s room. Sometimes she would stop in for a visit and sometimes I visited with her. She showed me all the pictures on her wall of her family. Although Sadie did not communicate much, I often wondered where she was from. I even asked the staff if they knew anything about her. Sadie still used a walker and was often up later in the evenings watching TV. I was away when she passed and was felt a deep sense of sadness”

“(Messages are cut off, so I will continue)…I kept waiting for Sadie’s obituary and was surprised that she was from Digby! I am from Tiverton, Digby County. More surprising, her sister Virginia was the mother of my cousin Mark’s wife, SueEllen Saunders. Her sister Viola was mother to my cousin Angela’s former husband, Richard Lombard.. no wonder I felt a connection. Rest In Peace, sweet lady”
