She was predeceased by : her parents, Russell Ruggles and Evelyn Ruggles (Hamilton); her husband Gary Perkins; and her sister Trudy. She is survived by : her children, Natasha (Keith) and Collin (Robyn); her grandchildren, Mason and Colbrun; her nieces, Anjanette and Luella; and her friend Sandra Gauthier.

Donations in her memory can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 21, Annapolis.

“I was so sorry to read of Gilda's passing. She did my hair for my wedding in 1975 and off and on for 50+ years. I missed her sorely when she moved to Digby. Many mornings we chatted and laughed trying to solve world problems, always with family pictures on the table. Wendy C (Hall) Hudson”
