Vernon leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Vernon’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Vernon will carry forward his memory in their hearts.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Duncan Briand and Cecelia Briand (Pottie); and his brother Martin Joseph Briand. He is survived by: his significant other Joyce Saulnier; his sisters, Awilda Benteau of Halifax, Delia Sage (Brian) of Ontario, Carol Watson (Kim) of Winnipeg and Janet Church of Richmond; and his stepson Ivan (Saulnier). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Heaven Cemetery.
