He was predeceased by: his parents, George Smith and Rose Smith (MacDonald); his siblings, Richard "Ricky" Smith and Susan MacDonald (Smith); and his daughter Vicky Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda Smith (McCarthy); his children, Angela Hill (Dwaine) and Robert Smith (Tracy); his grandchildren, Jake Smith (Jess), Jordan Hill and Marissa Smith; his siblings, George Smith (Gloria), Barbara MacDonald, Lorna McKinnon (Frank), Wendy MacKenzie (Tom), Cindy MacKenzie (Greg), Janice MacKie, Patricia Goodwin (Brian) and Fran Smith (Fred); his sister-in-law Mae Smith; and his niece Aurora.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 5th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the McLellan Funeral Home (3188 Plummer Ave, New Waterford, NS B1H4K4). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 5th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
