She was predeceased by: her parents, Emma Crowell and Austin Crowell; and her grandparents, Florence (Archibald), Archie McCarthy, Maude (Clark) and Sinclair Crowell.

She is survived by: her husband Wendell Slawter; her stepchildren, CJ Slawter (Katherine) and Charneise Slawter; her siblings, Betty Burris, Linda MacDonald (Francis), Kenneth Crowell, Karen Crowell (Greg Alyward), Janet Billins (Michael), Apsley, Ont, Marianne Crowell, Cole Harbour, Marilyn Brook (David), Marjorie Power (Chris) and Donald Crowell; and her nieces and nephews, Donald MacDonald (Kara), Michael MacDonald (Melinda), Steven Billins (Michelle), Justin Billins (Alex), Evan Brook (Vicki), Carson Brook (Samantha), Matthew Power (Sabrina), Gregory Power (Shannon), Kathleen Crowell (Keith Black), Kyle Crowell (Kayla) and Hunter Crowell (Laura). She is also survived by 10 great nieces and nephews.
