He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Smith and Evelyn Smith; his stepfather Robert Ivey; and his stepson Ashley Brooks. He is survived by: his wife Marcia Brooks; his children, Trina Morris of Dartmouth, Leon Sterling (Chi Mei) of Toronto and Mark (Anita) of Dartmouth; his stepson Bradley Brooks (Adana) of East Preston; his sister Sharon Williams-Simmonds of Toronto; and his goddaughter Tiffany LaFortune of Toronto. He is also survived by six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and four step-grandchildren.
