He was predeceased by: his parents, James Mathie and Agnes Mathie (Payne); and his wife Jean Ann Mathie (Evans). He is survived by: his children, Sue Coleman (Kevin), Karen Heighes (Sam), Jeannie Mathie, Andrea Mathie and Andrew Mathie; his grandchildren, Ryan (Erin), Trevor (Rosalie), Adrian (Nicole), Nick (Kelsea), Ian and Daniel; his great grandchildren, Oliver, Kai, Simone, Jack, Ryelee, Luca, Charlie and Isabella; his friend Mona O; his daughter Carla Purcell (Stephen); his grandchildren, Nicholas and Kayleigh; his son Mike O'Brien (Sarah-Jane); and his grandsons, Tom and Ted.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Gordon made to the Oceanview Continuing Care Home would be greatly appreciated by his family.
