He was predeceased by: his parents, Roderick John Johnson and Mary Margaret Joe (Ruston); his siblings, Sarah Johnson (Sally) and Tommy Johnson; his siblings-in-law, Gabriel Paul, Ryan Paul, George Paul, Keith Doucette, Georgina Stevens, Mary Ann Marshall, Matilda Benoit "Nanette" and Judy Johnson; and his close friend Kji Keptin Alex Denny.
He is survived by: his spouse Oti Eleanor Johnson; his children, Nigel (Amanda), Jeremiah (Shannon), Kattirin (Jonaphan) and Loli (Jill); his adoptive son Simon; his brothers, Michael Johnson and Kennth Paul (Martha); his siblings-in-law, Janet Denny, Sharon Paul (John), Patsy Martin (Barry), Peter Paul and John Edward Paul "Jackie"; his godchildren, Derrek Sylliboy and Pie'l Lalo Paul; and his close friends, Gerald Johnson, Sakej Henderson and Peyton Chisholm. He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 3rd 2026 at 7:00 PM at the Gabriel Centre (50 Gabriel St, Eskasoni, NS B0A1J0). A funeral service was held on Thursday, February 5th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Holy Family Catholic Parish Church (50 Gabriel St, Eskasoni, NS B0A1J0).
