She was predeceased by: her parents, John L. MacDonald and Cora MacDonald (Fulmore); her former husband G. Whitfield Gillespie; her husband Arthur H. Ward; and her siblings, Gertrude MacDonald and Leslie MacDonald.
She is survived by: her children, John Gillespie (Alice) of Pictou and Melissa Noel (Rodger) of Cole Harbour; her stepsons, Kenny Ward (Sharon) of Westville, Timmy Ward (Carol) of Dartmouth and Andy Ward (Wendy) of Churchville; and her close friend Audrey MacGillivray. She is also survived by her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Donations in memory of Helen may be made to the Valley View Villa recreation fund, St. Columba United Church or to a charity of one's choice.
