He was predeceased by : his brother-in-law Paul Hilchie; his parents, Frank Stuart and Margaret Stuart (Howlett); and his brothers-in-law, Peter and Steven Hilchie.

He is survived by : his wife Mary Jean Stuart (Hilchie); and his sisters, Elaine Elliot (Robert) and Virginia Lee (Mel). He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.

Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Halifax Hospice.
