He was predeceased by : his parents, Richard Gillis and Jessie Gillis (Hawkins); his wife Louise Olive Gillis; and his brothers, Len and Richard "Dick".
He is survived by : his children, John Gillis (Dot) of Cochrane, AB, Kevin Gillis (Anita) and Cathy Fraser (Andrew); his grandchildren, Jessica, Matthew, Lindsay and Johnny; his great grandchildren, Madison and Keira; and his siblings, Lorraine Haystead (Earl) of Stoney Creek, ON, Warren Gillis (Linda), Millville, Sheldon Gillis (Cecilia), David Gillis (Tammy), Stoney Creek and Lloyd Gillis (Diane).
