He was predeceased by: his parents, Merrill Bennett (Benoit) and Martina Compagnon; his siblings, Leslie Bennett (Benoit) and Anna Lee; his nephew John Lee; and his brothers-in-law, Jerry Downey and Mike Orndoff.
He is survived by: his granddaughters, Ruby Pearl and Gloria Mae; his siblings, Terrance (Marsha), Lorraine, William (Greta), Nora, Christina (Francis), Marion (Courtney) and Laura (Ivan); his siblings-in-law, Elmer Lee and Pat Molloy; and his nieces and nephews, Elizabeth, Martina, Ian, Donna, Paul, Cheryl, Bill, Victor, Jamie, Justin, Susan, Shirley, Nancy, Doug and David Michael. He is also survived by 20 great-nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 19th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Anne's Roman Cathloic Church (695 Main St, Glace Bay, NS B1A5V2). A burial will be held on Monday, October 19th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 11:15 AM at the Roman Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family is thankful for any gifts in memory to the Parkinson Society of Newfoundland and Labrador.
