She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Daniel Eagles and Nina Ellen Eagles (MacIntyre) of Glace Bay, NS. She is survived by: her husband Brian Roger Darby; her sons, Heath Arthur Darby (Kim) and Everard Wade Darby (Christianne Taul); her siblings, John Eagles (Rose) of Glace Bay, NS, Dora Larson (Mel) of Thunder Bay, ON, Charles Eagles (Maureen) of Calgary, AB, Richard Eagles (Debra) of Sydney Forks, NS and Patrick Eagles (Irene) of Fernie, BC.; and her granddaughters, Crystal, Madason and Lydia. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Donations in Arlene's memory may be made to the SPCA in Sydney, Nova Scotia, in honour of her lifelong love for animals.
