With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Genevieve Isabelle MacMillan in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, born in Inverness, Nova Scotia, who passed away on January 8, 2026 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, George Copley and Elizabeth Copley (Russell); her husband Angus; her siblings, Georgina Copley, Kaye Reid (Bill), Caroline Walker (Jordy), Jean Walker (Alexander) and Russell; and her sister-in-law Edith Copley.
She is survived by: her children, Donnie (Margy), George (Marjorie), AB, Louise MacDougall (Lorne) and Sarah MacLellan (Lennie); her grandchildren, Brenden MacMillan (David MacLeod), Cassie DesRoches (Kody), William Hall (Jill), Isaac Hall (Jenna Khoury-Hanna), Donald MacLellan, Michael MacLellan (Annie Greene) and John Angus MacLellan; her brothers, Edward Copley (Marie), George Copley Jr. and James Copley (Anne); and her sister-in-law Trudy Copley. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Central Inverness Hospice Palliative Care.
