He was predeceased by : his parents, Murdock Carmichael and Muriel Carmichael; and his brother Merrill. He is survived by : his sibling Robbie; and his children, Merrill (Betty), Beth (Stephen), David (Laureen), Heather Kearney (Sandy), Grampie, Jeffrey, Ryan, Adam, Emily, Lindsey, Naomi, Meaghan, Liam, Mackenzie and Ben.
