He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick "Fred" Volkes and Elsie Volkes (Hutchinson); and his brother Gerald Volkes. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Chislett; and his siblings, Margaret Blanchard (Earl), David Volkes (Linda), Jennifer Volkes and Judy Tincombe (Terrance). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, February 28th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses (257 Reserve St, Glace Bay, NS B1A4W5).
