He was predeceased by: his parents, Bruce and Alice; his siblings, Robert "Bob" and Frances; and his granddaughter Allyson.

He is survived by: his son Darryl (Tammie) of Dartmouth; his wife Barbara of West Lochaber; his children, Richard (Adele) of Truro, Robert (Surat) of Queensland and Kimberlea (Roger) of Florida; and his grandchildren, Benjamin (Mattison), Ryan (Sarah), Andre (Kayleigh), Denver and Ty. He is also survived by his family and many friends.
