He was predeceased by: his parents, Millie Sweetland and Arthur Sweetland; his father-in-law Joseph; his siblings-in-law, Jack, Lorna and Kens; his niece Karen; and his brother-in-law Bernard.

He is survived by: his wife Edith; his daughters, Carolyn and Kim; his grandchildren, Carly and Tyler; his siblings, Pauline and Bruce; his sister-in-law Joan; his siblings' children, Evelyn, Shawn, Jason and Shannon; his sister-in-law Eileen; and his mother-in-law Elizabeth Abbott of Newfoundland.
