She was predeceased by: her husband James Artel Byers; her parents, Mildred Thomas (Johnson) and Alexander Thomas; her siblings, Elizabeth, Joseph, Rodney and Fredrick; and her parents-in-law, Artel Byers and Elsie Byers.
She is survived by: her children, Darleen (Derrick) and James (Doneilia); her grandchildren, Deon, Aynsley, Nia and James; her siblings, Kathleen Mitchell, Velma Skeir (Wendell), Margaret Thomas, Mary Clayton, Patricia Thomas-Barton (Larry), Germaine Thomas, Alexander Thomas (Heather), Alvin Lawrence (Wanda) and Troy Thomas; her siblings-in-law, Bernice Arsenault (Jean-Paul), Carolyn Byers, Janet Byers, Douglas Byers and Wayne Marsman; and her godmother Mary MacDonald. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
