Arthur Austen Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Arthur Austen (Halifax, Nova Scotia), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 22, 2026 at the age of 79. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Arthur Austen to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his father Arthur Kenneth Austen; and his former wife Jackie McMahon. He is survived by: his mother Marion Biggar Austen (Molly); his girlfriend Peggy Mahon; his daughters, Maggie Austen (Stephen Cool) of San Jose, CA and Jennifer Austen (Corey Tucker) of Hopewell, NS.; his stepdaughters, Melanie Colwell (Stacey Colwell) of Bridgewater, NS and Katy Mahon (Veracruz Junior) of Dartmouth, NS; his stepgrandchildren, Matthew, Jamie, Milo, Lexi, Haley, Kyle, Ella, Luke, Mason and Lucas; his siblings, Alec and Cathie Wannamaker (Mark); and his nephews, Robert and Grant.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, May 28th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the St. Matthew's United Church (1479 Barrington St, Halifax, NS B3J1Z2).

In lieu of flowers, a donation to Hospice Halifax would be appreciated.
