He was predeceased by: his parents, William Joseph and Mary Clarissa Hicks (Bedford); his siblings, Clara and Lorne Hicks (Ann); and his siblings-in-law, Andrew Crosby and Judy Hicks.

He is survived by: his brother William Joseph Hicks (Billy); his wife Janet; his sister-in-law Diane Gorman; his sisters, Florence (John), Bras, Edna (Fred), Ottawa, Tina Big Bras (Brian), Marie (Frank), Sydney Mines, Dianne (John) and Sydney River; and his sister-in-law Ann Hicks. He is also survived by uncle.
