With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Charles Ervin McCurdy (Halifax, Nova Scotia), born in Middle Musquodoboit, Nova Scotia, who passed away on February 19, 2020 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Ervin McCurdy and Alice McCurdy (Ladd); and his siblings, Helen, Gordon, Ann and Eileen.

He is survived by: his wife Jessie Isabel (MacKichan); his children, Leslie (Katharina), Glenn (Linda), Katherine (David), David (Andrea) and Christeen (Jim); his grandchildren, Sarah (Anthony), Paul, Micah (Anna), Kelsey, Katlyn, Stephanie, James (Celine), Andrew (Natalie), Christeen, Carolyn (Colin), Michael and Jason; and his great grandchildren, Delilah, Edmund and Nicolas. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.

Though I have not seen him in recent years, I remember his welcoming nature and kindness given to me when I lived in the Halifax area. I wish to send my sympathy to Jessie and the whole family. Having lost my father in January, I do understand the loss we have suffered. Icons to us, these men leave a large gap in our lives but were such role models for a lives well lived.
