He was predeceased by: his parents, William Charles Chace and Josephine "Lorraine" Homan; his siblings, Anne Bayer and Robert "Steven" Chace; his brother-in-law Brian Bayer; his nephews, James and George Fraser; and his niece Crystal Fraser.

He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Chace (Burgess); his children, Heidi Chace (Adam Chambers) and Ancil Chace (Desiree Anunciado); his grandchildren, Cora-Lynn Romans-McCartney (Travis McCartney), Sean Chace and Caleb Chace; and his siblings, Katherine (Gary Slack), Josephine Chace, Maureen (James Fraser) and William Chace (Becky). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
