He was predeceased by: his parents, Alves J. Herx and Blanche R. Herx (Rackers); his son Joseph W. Herx; and his sister Sheila Herx of Raytown, MO. He is survived by: his wife Michelle Herx (Mathurin) of Maryland; his children, Dr. Leonie Herx (Christian Laird) of Kingston, ON, Justin Herx and Andrew Herx (Deana Martin) of Kentville, NS; his siblings, William Herx (Marva), Marilyn Scott (Don) and Jackie Geisler (Carl); and his grandchildren, Elim, Asher, Niriah, Denis, Ephraim, Giovani Herx of Kingston, ON, Atira Martin of Kentville, NS and Dennis.

Services: Due to Covid restrictions a private funeral by invitation will be held on July 31, 2021 at 11:00 am in St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Halifax, NS, Canada.
