She was predeceased by: her spouse Merle D. Conrad; her parents, Fred Ouderkirk and Birtie Ouderkirk (Murphy); and her siblings, Douglas, Jackie, Sheila Hume, Erma Pettit, Fairley Thompson, Audrey Whitman and Valerie Ouderkirk.
She is survived by: her daughter Catherine Sutherland (Edward); her grandchildren, Melanie (Allen) and Teddy (Carla); her siblings, Oscar Ouderkirk (Lois), Lois Hawke, Eleanor St. Pierre, Rita Dingwall (Eldred), Sandra Cavan (Mike) and John Ouderkirk (Cathy); her great grandchildren, Lauren, Evan, Rowan and Emmett; her close friends, Georgina and Herman Rawding; and also, Dawne, Lynn and Gary. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Hospice Halifax or to William Black Memorial Church would be appreciated by the family.
