It is with sadness that the passing of Douglas Gordon Thomas in Halifax, Nova Scotia is shared. Douglas, born on January 11, 1941 in Cape Ray, Newfoundland, passed away on September 22, 2026. He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy; his siblings, Minnie Osmond Mary (Wallace), Margaret Baker (Felix), Edwin and Frederick Thomas; his sister-in-law Ruby Piccott; and his pet Marvin.
He is survived by: his children, Deborah Thomas Doug (British Columbia), Darlene Thomas Granville Beach (Chris Ansems) and David Thomas Centreville (LeeAnne); his grandchildren, Caitlin (Shane), Chelsey (Alex), Paige (Yohan), Christian, Olivia and Avery; his great grandchildren, Makori and Navie; his niece Denise Seaward (Alfred); his sisters-in-law, Vivian Laybolt, Margaret Thomas, Susie Thomas and Sally Offord; and his brother Doug Joyce (Laura).
A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the East Coast Memorial Funeral Home (34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr, Coldbrook, NS B4R1B9).
