He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruth Smith and Harold Lewis Smith of Hamilton. He is survived by: his sister Helen Lyle (Jack) of Winona, Ontario.; his wife Pat; his children, Shelley McDonald (Randy) of Waverley and Greg Smith (Linda); his grandchildren, Scott McDonald (Ashton) of Winnipeg, Cameron McDonald (Lisa) of Waverley, Nicholas Smith, Benjamin Smith and Lauren Smith of Stouffville; and his great grandchildren, Sullivan, Lily, Charles and Hutton.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the J. A. Snow Funeral Home (339 Lacewood Dr, Halifax, NS B3S0E1).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Victoria General Hospital Palliative Care Unit 7A.
