She was predeceased by: her parents, Bill Hushard and Tilly Hushard (MacNeil); her siblings, Ernie Hushard and Sandra Richardson; and her grandson Jordan Boyd.

She is survived by: her husband James Kirby; and her children, Wayne Sumarah, Scott, Brandon and Katie. She is also survived by 2 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the QEII Foundation in care of the Inherited Heart Disease Clinic, or the Geriatric Assessment Unit.
