He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parent Dr. Jemima MacKenzie; his wife Catherine; his daughters, Catherine Holland (William), Cheryl MacKenzie and Pamela O'Connell (Richard); his grandchildren, Krista Holland-Guy (Guy), Shawn Holland, William Holland, Michael O'Connell (Jennifer) and Samantha O'Connell; his great grandchildren, Dion Holland, Emily Holland, Caitlyn Holland, Chase O'Connell, Katelyn O'Connell, Joseph O'Connell and Lilly O'Connell; and his brother Eric MacKenzie (Margaret).

Donations can be made in Philip's memory to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.
