He was predeceased by: his parents, William Staples and Essie Staples (Armsworthy); his brother Eugene; his sister-in-law Frances; his brother Eric Rowe Staples; and his niece Arlene.
He is survived by: his wife Heather Stewart; his daughter Hope Digout (Lennie); his grandsons, Jack Digout and Max Digout; his sibling's children, Dr. Eric Staples, John Brehaut, Linda Brehaut and Marion Breau (Matt); and also, Sandra Brehaut (John) and Karen Stewart.
