It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gary Edward Smith of Halifax, Nova Scotia, who passed away on April 12, 2022, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Hawkins Smith and Eva Jean Smith (Rockola). He is survived by: his wife Laling Tom; his children, Samantha Smith, Canberra, Tom Smith of Halifax, NS., Christine Taylor of Halifax, NS and Cathy Quentien (Marc Quentien) of Victoria, BC; the mother of his children Karen Lyle; his grandchildren, Zachary Taylor, Vanessa Taylor, Michael Joyce, James Quentien and Maisie Quentien; his great grandchild Gemma Levesque; his sister Darlene Hire (Ronnie Hire) of Lower Sackville, NS; and his caregivers, Gary and Megan. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
