He was predeceased by: his parents, Ronald Cooper and Marjorie Cooper (Selig); his wife Leona Cooper (Sawler); and his brothers, John and Gary.

He is survived by: his daughters, Cindy (Edwin), Candace and Charlene (Scott); his siblings, Reggie, Gilbert (Tina), Bobby, Jerry (Gladie) and Joan (Chevey); his grandchildren, Jeremy, Brittany, Josh (Sydney), Matthew (Hannah), Tamara, Natalie (Kyle), Natasha and Willie; and his great grandchildren, Greyson and Ryder. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations in memory of George may be made to South Shore Regional Hospital, Canadian Red Cross or Diabetes Canada.
