He was predeceased by: his parent Michael O'Malley; his son Daniel (Danny); his siblings, John, Hugh, Clyde, Margaret Pottier, Mary Scott and Dorothy Michaud; and his former wife Catherine.

He is survived by: his wife Marie (Langan); his children, Thomas (Heike Wenaus), Elizabeth Ann Cody (Paul), Carolyn (Wayne Jackson) and Gregory (Jenine); his grandchildren, Neil, Kimberley, Jeffrey Cody, Ryan, Conor O'Malley, Keelan, Brianna, Jessica and Zachary O'Malley; his great grandchildren, Luke and Alex Cody; his sisters-in-law, Catherine and Francis; his daughter-in-law Mary Gorman; and his parent Mary O'Malley (Brackett). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
