We bid farewell to Gretchen Gail Smith (Halifax, Nova Scotia), born in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on September 29, 2025 at the age of 79. Gretchen touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary Smith and Ainsley Smith; her nephew Barrie; and her brother-in-law Barry. She is survived by: her sisters, Kathryn Pettipas (Alvin) and Judy MacDonald; her nephews, Bruce Pettipas (Ellen), Brian Pettipas (Judie), Garett MacDonald (Sharon) and Dale MacDonald (Kiran); her great-niece Brooklyn; and her great-nephews, Justin, Ian and Grant (Phil).
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Cruikshank's Halifax Funeral Home (2666 Windsor St, Halifax, NS B3K5C9). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Cruikshank's Funeral Home (2666 Windsor St, Halifax, NS B3K5C9).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Make a Wish Foundation in her memory.
