He was predeceased by: his parent Harry Murphy; his wife Jenny Murphy; and his siblings, Malcolm, Violet, Marjorie and Lillian.
He is survived by: his parent Emily Murphy (Adams); his significant other Mary Boomhour; his children, Ronnie Meakins, Bobby Burns, Gloria Poan and Sharon Campbell; his stepdaughter Kathy Ridgley (Bill); his grandchildren, Mike (Kim), Anthony (Heather), Cadney Chan (April), Jeronimo (Amanda), Johnny (Geneva) and Dominique (Paul); and his siblings, Vincent Murphy (Jean), Gerald Murphy (Debbie), Greta Walters, Mary Sullivan, Carol Bonin, Donna Richardson (Dennis) and Dorthy Henderson (Ken). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
