She was predeceased by: her parents, Margaret Buthley Hudgins and Captain Jack Hudgins; her grandson Adam Grant; her siblings, Olive Slauenwhite and Bill; and her sister-in-law Betty.
She is survived by: her son Patrick Hudgins (Valerie); her grandchildren, Jacqueline Battist, Adam Shortliffe and Luke Hudgins (Allie); her great grandchild Laney Joy Hudgins; her children, Heather Hudgins-Rogers (Stephen), Leigh Grant (Kim), Kristopher Grant and Justin Grant; and her great grandchildren, Patrick, Kayleigh, Oliver, Cohen and Hunter.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Janet returned to Nova Scotia to be closer to family.
